I live in Las Vegas, NV, with my wife, a Flight Attendant for a major U.S. airline. I have two daughters, 13 and 10 years old, that live in Sacramento with their mother, but spend at least 10 days a month with us, either in Sacramento or at home in Summerlin. We love scuba diving, travelling, motorcycle riding, hanging out with the kids, hiking, and meeting new people.

I am a character with several hats. In addition to being a CPA I am also an airline pilot for a major U.S. airline currently flying mainly international flights, as well as an avid real estate investor / entrepreneur.

That seems scattered to some, but I beg to disagree. Aviation is no doubt my first passion, and has been a lifelong pursuit. However, this career offers a significant amount of time “off” work, both while on days off at home, or long slow days at a hotel somewhere in the world. Being a numbers kind of guy, and not content with one stream of income (it’s a risk thing, not greed) I pursued a degree in Accounting, graduating in 2000 from Hawaii Pacific University. I sat for the CPA exam in 2002 and passed all four parts on the first attempt. Finally, real estate has always interested me both as an investment and a tax shelter; now my wife and I hold multiple rental units throughout the U.S.

The road to today has not been a straight line, and not easily summarized here. But over the past 20 years I have worked in government audit, Oil & Gas Joint Venture Audit and Consulting, Tax for individuals and businesses, Controller/CFO work both on a full-time basis and as a contractor; I have broad experience, and pride myself in speaking accounting & tax in a way that my clients understand.
